several advantages for farmers. They were simpler and cheaper to built, with
more space efficiency than a four-sided barn.
The silo was often located in the center.

shape makes them stand out. The years from 1880–1920 were the height of round
barn construction in America.
Some round barns are being restored and
preserved but many
old barns are deteriorating and falling
