Storm over the Blue Ridge Mountains in Virginia

This picture was taken from the side of Blue Ridge Parkway in the mountains of Southwest Virginia. I used my mid-range Canon Cybershot camera.

A storm was brewing over this adorable little farming community, and the rain had just begun to fall. I am originally from this area, and had come back to visit last fall because I miss it so much. I was surprised to see it still so green that late in the season!

The Blue Ridge Mountains are amazing in any weather, but I think storms are the most incredible of all. If you've never visited, come and take a trip to see them sometime. I guarantee you won't regret it!

I've been all over the the United States and Europe, to places with much taller mountains like Italy, Switzerland and Colorado, and I've still never found any place that compares to country charm of my childhood home.
