No barnyard is quite complete without a turkey gobbler, strutting his stuff.
Farm turkey pictures help remind us that another Thanksgiving is just around the
corner!
I have compiled here a photo gallery, a collection of fantastic
farm turkey photos for all of us to enjoy. Fantastic
pictures capture magical moments in time, and that's what I want to share with you.
The turkey is one of the most famous American birds, mostly because a
Thanksgiving turkey
is a traditional part of the Thanksgiving feast.
Farm turkeys are much larger than wild
turkeys, although they are both from the same family. Farm turkeys are
domestic poultry, bred and raised for their meat.
Male turkeys are known as Gobblers, or "Tom Turkeys." They puff up their
feathers in a way similar to the proud peacock, to attract females, or hens. The
turkey gobblers grunt and strut about shaking their feathers.
