Butterflies Bring Good Luck

Butterflies in my Garden
One of the best things about living in the country is the fact that you see so many beautiful sights every day.
For instance, I can look out my kitchen window and watch the deer feeding in the back yard in the winter. I can watch the squirrels scampering for nuts to hide in the fall.
During the spring, I can literally watch some of the plants pop up before my very eyes and see how the birds, bees and butterflies all commune with the flowers and each other to maintain a harmonious environment.
And in the summer, the vegetables in the garden are abundant and ready for picking, preserving and sharing. It's really a wonderful experience, and I feel sorry for those who never get the opportunity to see firsthand the miracles of life that surround you.
Although I live close to a medium size city, I am far enough away to feel insulated and protected from the noise and violence.
Just last week I looked out in my garden and saw some butterflies flying around, extracting the nectar from the flowers in my yard. I quickly grabbed my camera and was thrilled that I was able to get some great photos.
It was mid-morning, the sun was shining and it was one of those perfect days. They say butterflies bring good luck, so I'm hoping that it's true.
You'll never find butterflies in the city!
